Decorating our master bedroom is something I have been dreaming about for a while now. I wanted to make this space peaceful, calming and somewhere I could relax.

Before Pics of the Master Bedroom

If you didn’t know, we scraped the popcorn ceiling off the entire 2500 square feet of our house before we moved it! It was a lot of work but so worth! Here is how we did it.

I love planning out room decor ideas for the rooms I decorate in a vision board. This allows me to see all aspects of the space and I get an idea of the budget for the room. The vision board also keeps me from buying random pieces of decor not necessarily right for this space. I also like to think of any DIY projects I might want for

Carpet
The major change in this room will be new carpet. The carpet throughout our entire upstairs is outdated and needs a refresh. We plan to install the same gray colored carpet throughout our entire second floor. We have yet to choose the carpet.
The Bed & Headbaord
For our bed, I love the look of a white duvet with pops of color in the throw pillows. So I went with a light beige headboard and white duvet cover. This duvet cover is SUPER soft and such a great price on Amazon! I highly recommend it!

Wall Decor
I plan to find a really affordable larger wall art piece at Homegoods for near the window. Then I want to hang three over-sized matted frames above the bed. I haven’t decided what I want to put in the frames yet… Possibly some artsy pics from our wedding or more generic prints. I will keep you post on that! I also plan to hang a few pictures of our
Furniture
I will be using these night stands in a natural wood look along with a bench for the end our bed.
DIY Projects
My plan for a full length mirror is to use my current mirror, but create a new natural wood stained frame for it. I also plan to put up floating shelves below our mounted TV and stain them the same color as the mirror frame.
DIY Sliding Barn Door
The coolest part of our bedroom was already apart of a finished DIY project… our DIY Sliding Barn Door. I created a full tutorial on this project here. This door really updates the room and gives the space something unique.
So now that I have my plan, we can budget for these items, watch for sales and start the DIY projects!
