DIY Backyard Bouquet

Who doesn’t love fresh flowers in their house? But who actually has the budget to buy them every week… I have a solution to this flower dilemma ๐Ÿ˜‰ Your backyard is filled with greenery all summer and this little tutorial is on how to create your own DIY backyard bouquet so that you can enjoy fresh greenery throughout the summer!

Step 1: Gather your Greenery

You can find all sorts of greenery in your back yard. Below I have long grass, stems from my peonies, branches from a larger bush, sedum plant stems, and fern leaves! Aim for 5 or 6 different varieties.

Step 2: Start with your vase and heartier greenery in the middle

I used Sedum!
Step 3: Add some fillers

Use greenery like peony stems or fern leaves to fill in around the hearty middle greenery:

These are the stems from my peonies after the flower died.
Ferns are my favorite greenery and they are usually pretty easy to find!
Step 4: Add taller greenery to the back and sides:

I use taller grass and greenery branches from a bush in our back yard (I have no idea what the bush is called ha!)
Step 5: Stare at the simple beauty!
